The 25th International Doctoral Conference of Civil Engineering JUNIORSTAV 2023 organised by the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Brno University of Technology took place on 26 January 2023. After two years of the conference being held online, the conference participants met in person at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

After the official opening by the Rector of the Brno University of Technology, doc. Ing. Ladislav Janíček, Ph.D., MBA, LL.M., the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering prof. Ing. Rostislav Drochytka, CSc, MBA, dr. h. c. and the Vice Dean for Creative Activities and Digitalisation doc. Mgr. Tomáš Apeltauer, Ph.D., followed by an introductory lecture by the architectural studio U/U Studio, which deals mainly with the design of skate parks.

The JUNIORSTAV 2023 conference was divided into six sessions: Building Structures, Building Materials and Components, Structural and Transport Engineering, Water Management and Water Structures, Civil Engineering Management and Geodesy, Cartography and Geographic Information Science. In each of the sessions, the following programme was held separately with presentations by individual participants until the afternoon.

After the conference, the participants went on an excursion to the Starobrno Brewery, from where they went directly to the closing ceremony in the auditorium. The authors of the best papers from the individual sessions were announced and will have the opportunity to publish the results of their research in several peer-reviewed journals.
